Eleanor Tanis

Eleanor Louise Barrett Tanis, 89 of Kannapolis, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at her home. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at a later date in Wyckoff, NJ. Eleanor was born on June 10, 1922 in Paterson, NJ, to the late John William and Mary Barrett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Martin Tanis. She is survived by three sons, John Tanis of Woodstock, NY and Gary Tanis of Tucson, AZ and Walter Tanis of Vermont; two grandchildren, Kara Tanis of Boca Raton, FL and Barrett Tanis of Vermont; and a brother Joe Barrett of Sun City, AR. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Tanis family.
