Elene Morgan

Elene Hatley Morgan, 83, of Stanfield, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018.

Mrs. Morgan was born March 24, 1935 in Stanly County to the late Vonnie Elbert Hatley and the late Thelma Rae Greene Hatley.

Mrs. Morgan attended Smith's Grove Primitive Baptist Church, Oakboro.  She was kind-hearted, always putting others before herself, especially when it came to sharing helpful information.  Mrs. Morgan was an avid flower and vegetable gardener, always sharing plant cuttings and seeds with friends.  She was very talented and creative.  She sang and played the guitar on the radio when she was young.  Mrs. Morgan enjoyed canning, drawing, sewing, needlework and crocheting.  She also baked and decorated unique cakes and beautifully arranged flowers.  Mrs. Morgan loved her family most of all.  She took care of her aunts and enjoyed a very close relationship with them.  Mrs. Morgan was a loving wife, mother and grandma.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include beloved husband, Coy Robert Morgan of the home; daughter, Janet Jambora of Indian Trail; grandson, Jeremy Jambora; brother, Ervin Robert Hatley of Locust; and dear friends, Melba Sides of Concord, and Bud and Sarah Little of Oakboro.

The family will receive friends Sunday, May 13, 2018 from 6 - 8 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. The funeral service will be 3:00 PM Monday, May 14, 2018 at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, Midland, officiated by Elder Ted Morton and Elder David Anderson. Burial will follow at the Smith's Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Oakboro.
