Eliza Austin

Eliza Ann Austin, 90 years of age, of Marshville, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2013 at her home. Mrs. Austin was born April 7, 1923 in Union County to the late William Marcus Austin and the late Sarah Elizabeth Austin. She was also preceded in death by husband, Fulton Lee Roy Austin in 1998; brothers, Henderson, Lumus and Wayne Austin; son, Stephen Austin; and step-granddaughter, Wendy Woodell. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. The funeral service will be on Wednesday at 2:00 pm, with a 30 minute state prior to the service, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 7002 Pleasant Hill Church Road, Marshville, officiated by Rev. John Miller and Rev. Jeff Whitecotton. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. At other times, the family will meet at her home. Survivors include daughters, Marilee (Glenn) Love and Maureen (Tommy) Harvell, both of Locust; son, Ivan (Sybil) Austin of Marshville, grandchildren, Doug (Renee) Love of Stanfield, Rodney (Lesley) Love of Oakboro, Sandra Leung of Charlotte, Becky Austin of Rockingham; great-grandchildren, Adam Love, Curt Love, Matt (Tiffany) Ferrell, Landon Ferrell, Megan Rick, Jordan Sikes, Jamie Woodell; and great-great-grandchildren, Chloe Bryant, Cheyanne Drye, and Hallie Glasgow.
