Elizabeth "Bill" Eudy, 106 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Friday, January 15, 2016.
Bill was born October 27, 1909 in Davidson County to the late Julie Bryant Elberson. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Linda York, great-granddaughter, Lisha Hudson, and her two brothers.
Bill joined thousands of other young ladies known as "Rosie Riveters" during World War II working tirelessly as a welder in Savannah, GA building battleships. She was affectionately known as "Grandma Bill" to many children during her life because she fed and rocked them "many miles" in her rocking chair. She was loved and admired because of her nurturing care she extended to the children at Linda's Daycare in Albemarle.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM, Monday, January 18, 2016, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel officiated by Pastor Eddie Hudson at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 18, 2016. A private burial will follow.
Survivors include her grandson, two great-granddaughters, and three great great grandchildren.
