Elizabeth LeGette King, 91, of Charlotte, passed away Monday, July 8, 2024, at The Post at Mint Hill.
Elizabeth was born July 19, 1932, in Salisbury, North Carolina, to the late John Salathiel LeGette and the late Faye Leonard LeGette. She was also preceded in death by her, stepson, Dallas “Kim” King.
Elizabeth was a longtime resident of Charlotte and the Mallard Creek Community. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved to travel and enjoyed spending time at her vacation home in Oak Island, NC. She loved all of her pets, especially her cat, Sir Winston, and her dog, Rocky. Elizabeth enjoyed puzzles, needlepoint, cross stitch, and crochet. She loved classical and Christian music and was a member of the women’s circle group at her church, Mallard Creek Presbyterian. Elizabeth was an avid reader and loved the Lord.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 32 years, Dallas Merle King of Charlotte; daughter, Kathy Reid, of Charlotte; daughter, Becky Plemmons, of Mint Hill; son, Tim Reid (Cheryl), of Wesley Chapel; six grandchildren, Christina Melton (fiancé Adam), Candace Jaminski (James), Ashley Reid, Sandy Van Every (Lacey), Luke Van Every (Elizabeth), Kim Walker (Mike); and 12 great-grandchildren, Maddox Washer, Brayden Washer, Noah Jaminski, Madilynne Jaminski, Nathan Jaminski, Cole Coronado, Kane Coronado, Tristan Van Every, Knox Van Every, Finley Van Every, Londen Walker, Kayla Walker, Kyle Davis, and Jalen Walker.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 10:45 am, Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Rev. Robert M. Watkins. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery and Memorial Gardens, 1504 W. Sugar Creek Road, Charlotte.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Via Health Partners, or the Humane Society of Charlotte.
The family would like to thank the staff of The Post in Mint Hill for the love and care of Mrs. Elizabeth King.
