Ella Elizabeth Crowell Clontz of Fairview, Union County passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014 at White Oak of Waxhaw. Ella was born January 7, 1919 in Monroe to the late William Vann Crowell and the late Lelia Eunice Pope Crowell. She was 95 years old. Ella Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Baxter Grady Clontz; her son, Willam Grady Clontz; and her great grandson, Joseph Daniel Ross. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Hopewell Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the church sanctuary officiated by Rev. Dr. Lee Pigg. The burial will be in the church cemetery. She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Dean Howey and husband Hazel Reid of Waxhaw, Linda Ann Rosette and husband Jack of Lincolnton; grandsons, Greg Howey of Monroe, Billy Howey of Waxhaw, Rick Ross of New Salem, Randy Ross of Mint Hill, and Rodney Ross of Denver; their wives and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be her great-grandsons. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 West Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28110 and Hopewell Baptist Church Building Fund, 420 Hopewell Church Rd., Monroe, NC 28110. Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Clontz family.
