Ella Mae Wagoner, age 86, went home to be with our precious Lord and Savior on December 9th, 2017. Ella was born on June, 25,1931 to John Stephen Ketchie and Ruth Walton Ketchie of Gold Hill, NC.
Ella had three brothers and three sister. She was married to the late Bruce Daniel Wagoner, Sr., for 47 years. Ella was a longtime member and Elder of Rocky River Presbyterian Church of Concord, NC.
Ella was an accomplished Floral Designer for 31 years in the Charlotte area. Ella owned Ellie's Floral Expressions in the Myers Park, Providence Road Community in Charlotte for 15 years. Ella was a State of the Art Floral Designer and was named North Carolina Designer of the Year in 1981. Ella's creations were very sought after. Her creativity was unique, beautiful and will be greatly missed.
Ella is survived by son, Donald (Don) Wagoner of Concord,NC; Bruce D. (Buddy) Wagoner, Jr. of Holden Beach, NC; and daughter, Cynthia Barbee of Harrisburg, NC. Ella is also survived by two loving and dear sisters, Josephine Troutman of Salisbury, NC and Lena Beaver of Clemmons, NC. Ella has nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many loving and faithful relatives and friends.
She also leaves behind her faithful companion toy poodle Daisy Mae.
We would like to thank the staff at Morningside Assisted Living of Concord, Hospice of Cabarrus County and the many caregivers who lovingly cared for and showed great compassion to our mom on her final journey to her heavenly home.
The family will receive friends in the fellowship Hall at Rocky River Presbyterian Church in Concord, NC from 10:00-11:30 am on Wednesday, December 13th. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 in the church, with a graveside service immediately following in the church cemetery. We ask that memorials be made to Hospice of Cabarrus County and Rocky River Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
