Eloise Ward

Eloise Yow Ward, 88, of Shallote, NC, formerly of Stanfield, NC, passed away June 15, 2010, in New Hanover Hospital, Wilmington, NC. Mrs. Ward was born July 19, 1921, in Mecklenburg County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyle Lee “Pete” Yow, Sr.; father Marvin Lee Jones, Sr.; and mother, Martha Marie Cain Jones. Eloise and Pete built and managed Pete’s Café in Stanfield for many years. Visitation will be Thursday, June 17, 7 – 9 p.m., at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. The funeral will be Friday, 11:00, in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, Midland. Rev. Ronnie Simpson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Love’s Grove United Methodist Cemetery, Stanfield. Survivors include her sons, Hoyle Lee “Pete” Yow, Jr., and wife, Letha, of Denton, NC, John Mac Yow and wife, Teresa, of Shallotte, NC, and Gary Yow of Wilmington, NC; daughters, Martha Parker of Holden Beach, NC, and Sandra Dykes of Shallotte, NC; grandchildren, Bryan Yow, Jennifer Orlando, Lanei and Courtnei Yow, Tracey Harvell, Cindy Sanchez, and Kimberly Santiago; great-grandchildren, Joseph and Dustin Holloman and Jonathan Hewett; and niece Carolyn Yandle and husband, Tommy.
