Elsie Ellington

Elsie Stirewalt Ellington, 83, of Concord, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. Mrs. Ellington was born August 26, 1930 to the late John and Carrie Stirewalt. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Harold Ellington. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm, Friday, October 4, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. James Barrett will be on Friday at 2:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord Chapel. Burial will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery. Elsie was a hard worker. She worked in the Kayser-Roth hosiery mill, the hospital and S&D Coffee Company. Mrs. Ellington loved helping out in the community and serving her church and family. She is survived by a son, Joseph Ellington of Mt. Pleasant; two daughters, Nancy Anderson of Kannapolis and Sue Brumfield of Charlotte; two grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Hartsell Funeral Home is serving the Ellington family.
