Elsie Fisher

Elsie Mae Fisher, 90, of Albemarle, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2022 at her home.

Elsie was born April 27, 1932 in Stanly County to the late Isaac Arnolphus Lowder and the late Carrie Mae Lowder. In addition to her husband Delman Torbot Edwards, she was also preceded in death by daughter, Georgette Callahan; brothers, Halburt Lowder and Sammy Lowder; Step-son and two step-daughters.

The family will receive friends Thursday June 23, 2022 from 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will follow in the Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel at 2:30 PM officiated by Rev. Buck Moore. Burial will follow at the Poplin Grove Baptist Church Cemetery at 220 Poplins Grove Church Road, Albemarle.

Elsie enjoyed writing. She used her spare time and wrote a book on the genealogy of the Lowder family history. She also loved playing the piano while teaching others as well. She played piano for her church for many years.

Survivors include daughter, Alicia Wright of Albemarle, NC; grandson, Ryan Callahan; granddaughter, Brittany Rhyne; numerous nieces and nephews.
