Elsie Robinson

Mrs. Elsie Louise Rollings Robinson, 92, of 4397 Cold Springs Road, South, Concord, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 23, 2011 surrounded by her children and grandchildren at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis after a period of declining health. She was born on August 23, 1918 in Jefferson, SC to the late John and Hattie Eubanks Rollings. She is also preceded in death by her husband, William Preston Robinson, Sr., who passed away in 1980, and a number of brothers and sisters. Mrs. Robinson attended St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and was a homemaker for most of her life. She had a love for tending to her garden and baking. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord from 10:00 until 10:45 am. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am in the chapel with Rev. Alan Thompson officiating. Graveside rites will be 12:30 pm at Forest Lawn West, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208. At other times, the family will be meeting at the home. She is survived by her sons, William Preston Robinson, Jr. and Katie, of Greensboro, Donald Robinson and wife, Amy, of Concord, and Ronald Robinson and wife, Cheryl, of Newton; daughter, Shirley Popwell and husband, Raymond, of Rock Hill, SC; grandchildren, Melissa, Crystal, Brian, Tammy, Angie, Michael, and John; great grandchildren, Abbi Grace, Jacob, Katy, Lacey, Huston, Nicole, Brittany, Amber, Tyler, and Skylar; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081 or the charity of your choice.
