Emil Frederick "Fred" Madorin

Emil Frederick “Fred” Madorin, 87, of Harrisburg, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

Mr. Madorin was born July 18, 1936, in Adair, Missouri to the late Emil Frederick Madorin Sr. and the late Helen McCollam Madorin.

He was also preceded in death by daughter, Elizabeth Madorin.

Fred spent his career in the shoe business and holds several patents for his designs. His work enabled him to travel internationally, which he very much enjoyed. He also liked music and was a member of a barbershop quartet for many years. Fred enjoyed basketball, baseball and football and loved to talk sports. He spent most of his life in St. Louis and retired to North Carolina which suited his love of the outdoors, especially the beach and the mountains.

The family will be receiving friends from 2:00 to 4:30 pm, Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg. Survivors include wife, Phyllis Davolt Madorin of Harrisburg, NC, son, Michael (Jeanne) Madorin of Harrisburg, NC, grandson, David (Gini) Madorin, grandson, Steven (Krista) Madorin, great-grandson, Graham Madorin, son, Pat (Carol Crowell) Madorin of Buffalo, NY, grandson, John Madorin, grandson Ian Crowell, grandson Eric Crowell
