Emma Hinson

Emma Mae Morgan Hinson, age 94, of Stanfield, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Kendrid Transitional Care & Rehabilitation - Monroe, NC. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 19, 2012, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. At other times the family will meet at her home. The funeral service will be Friday, January 20, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. George Gouge officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. She was born on September 22, 1917 to the late Adam Broadus Morgan and the late Carrie Lou Hathcock Morgan. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter Carol Lutz Sneed. Mrs. Hinson was an avid historian who published two family history books. She is survived by her husband of 75 years, John Wilson Hinson Sr. of Stanfield, NC; sons, Arden Hinson of Monroe; Larry Hinson of Stanfield; Wayne Hinson and wife Marie of Monroe; John Hinson Jr. of Harrisburg; daughter, Sylvia H. Lutz and husband J.W. of Charlotte; grandchildren, Pete Lutz, Adam Hinson, Jenny Hinson, Carrie H. Hamby; great-grandchildren, Brandon Sneed, Kasey Lutz and Amy Boatright.
