Emma "Kate" Little

Emma "Kate" Little, 95, of Albemarle, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Trinity Place in Albemarle.

Kate was born September 29, 1928 in North Carolina to the late Crawford Lee Mauldin and the late Willie Lee Davis Mauldin. 

She was also preceded in death by husband, George Dillon Little, brother, Gerald Davis Mauldin, Brother, Robert Lee Mauldin, Brother, Walter 'Pete' Herman Mauldin, brother, Tom Edward Mauldin; and sister, Mary Alice Hudson.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 11:45 am, Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Silver Springs Baptist Church of Norwood. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 12pm officiated by Rev. Mark Little and Rev. Thomas Mauldin. Burial will follow at the Silver Springs Baptist Church Cemetery located at 16072 NC 138 Hwy, Norwood.

Kate was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She has been a member of Silver Springs Baptist Church for most of her life and served as their church treasurer for over 25 years. Kate served her Lord and Savior with all her heart, as well as her church family and community.  She worked as an operations officer at Southern National Bank in Mount Gilead for 42 years.  Some of her favorite pastimes involved bird watching, reading, word-search, crocheting, and gardening.  But she cherished most of all the time she got to spend with her family, especially the years she spent taking care of her parents.  Kate was a devoted woman to her God and her family, and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include son, David (Melanie) Little, daughter, Sherry (Paul) Baracco, all of Albemarle, NC; Sister, Connie Myra Poplin of FL.; granddaughters Amber Scott and Megan Little; great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Helms.

Memorials may be made to Silver Springs Baptist Church at 16072 NC Hwy 138, Norwood NC.
