Emma Morton

Emma Alma Lefler Morton, 83 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Trinity Place in Albemarle. Emma, born June 11, 1930 in Stanly County, was the daughter of the late Jonas Pierce "J.P." Lefler and Emma Alma Lowder Lefler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ezra McAllen Morton in 1979. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm on Monday, May 12, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel officiated by the Rev. Ron Honeycutt. Burial will follow at the Fairview Memorial Park, 1425 East Main Street, Albemarle. Survivors include daughters, Jane (Jerry) Myers of Albemarle, and Peggy (Tony) Furr of Albemarle; three grandchildren, Brigette Marie Myers, Allen (Jenny) Furr, and Justin (Katie) Furr; and three great grandchildren, Addison, Eli, and Emerson Furr. Emma received her CNA associate degree from Stanly Community College and retired from Bethany Woods. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 North First Street, Albemarle, NC and Trinity Place, 24724 Hwy. 52 South, Albemarle, NC .
