Eria Hinson

Eria Elsie Hinson, 92, of Albemarle, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Trinity Place in Albemarle.

Elsie was born April 30, 1931, in North Carolina to the late William Capel and the late Carrie Mae Capel.

She was also preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Richard Lumas Hinson, Jr, and loving daughter, Janet H. Godwin.

Elsie was known for her strong personality and wit, which kept everyone laughing.  In her free time, she would frequent yard sales and travel with husband when she was able.   Elsie will be remembered for her love of her family and her unwavering devotion to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.   She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

The Graveside Service will be on Monday, May 8, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Aquadale Baptist Church Cemetery, 32871 Church Road, Norwood, North Carolina, officiated by Pastor Ray Johnson.

Survivors include son, Roger Dean (Debbie) Hinson of Albemarle, daughter, Sherri Hinson Blackmon of Albemarle, NC, granddaughter, Tonya Godwin, grandson, Brandon (Amanda) Godwin, grandson, Brian (Nikki) Hinson, granddaughter, Lauren (Nick) Huneycutt, granddaughter, Courtney (Derrick) Simpson, grandson, Heath (Brittany) Blackmon and 13 great-grandchildren.

Special thanks to my special niece Sharon Rumble and dear friend Brenda Coley. The family would like to thank all the loving staff of Hospice of Stanly & The Uwharrie and Trinity Place for the care and support during this challenging time.
