Ernestine Curry

Ernestine Curry, 93 years young, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Trinity Place of Albemarle.

Ernestine was born October 23, 1929, to parents Ernesto Medina and Santa Vivoni Medina D’Avila. She was preceded in death by husband Benjamin P. Curry.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm, Friday, December 16, 2022, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel officiated by Rev. Nate Drye.

Ernestine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved to fish, camp and travel. When a friend would telephone she was always ready to say, “Count me in, let’s go!” In past years she spent many hours cruising the United States with her son Tom, now retired, during his employ driving an 18-wheeler. She also enjoyed going on what she called “adventures” with her daughter, Sandy. When they jumped into the car for an out and about experience, they never knew what kind of “good mischief” and fun they were going to have together. I must say, her favorite way to spend her day, was reading, studying her bible and listening to worship music. She was a devoted prayer warrior and enjoyed going to church at Albemarle First Assembly.

Survivors include: Daughter, Sandy Burris and son-in-law Gary, of Albemarle, NC and son, Tom Curry and daughter-in-law Teresa, of Oakboro, NC. Her grandchildren Amanda Glenn, Christina Woods, Natalie Bruno, Samantha Smith and Bradley Smith. Her great grandchildren Zane, Jaxson, Gabriel, Corbin, Elena, Sophia and three-year-old Tahlia. She loved her sons-in-law, Michael Woods and Herman Bruno. She also survives her sister, Mrs. Eneida Echeandia, of Miami, FL.
