Estelle Allen Hinson, 84, of New Salem, went to meet her Savior on March 3, 2013, surrounded by family, following a brief stay at the Hospice House of Monroe. Prior to this, she spent a period of time at Autumn Care of Marshville. Born September 26, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Lela Caudle Allen. She was a graduate of Burnsville High School and retired from Yale Security. She married Willie Hinson on July 24, 1948. She was a long time member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She loved to be in her yard with her flowers and garden, and loved to spend time with friends and family. Her love for Duke Basketball was known by all. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She always had a sweet smile for everyone. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie G. Hinson, Sr., brothers: Benson, James, Cecil, and Bobby Allen; sister: Louise Hinson, and son-in-law: Robert (Bob)Dipple. She is survived by her son, Willie G. Hinson, Jr. and wife, Connie; daughter, Teresa Dipple; granddaughters Emily (Robby) Hamke and Amanda (Jason) Buck; great grandchildren, Madison and Mayce Hamke and Landen Buck; sisters Betty (Joe) Taylor of Clemmons, NC; Carolyn (Gerald) Johnson of Denver, NC, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Also survived by Ms. Hinson was her special friend, Craig Thomas. Visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland on March 6th from 6 to 8 pm.
