Estelle Pauley, 94 years of age, of Concord went home to be with her Lord Jesus on Friday, June 2, 2017 at her daughter's home in Whitsett, NC.
Mrs. Pauley was born September 13, 1922 to the late Horace Monroe and Julia Catherine Crayton Drye. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister's Ola Mae Furr, Gatha Earnhardt, Odelia Allman Lambert, Catherine Drye, Helen Bost, Autie Austin, Aileen Canup and brothers Earl "Bud" Drye, Huston Drye and Harry Drye. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, James Howard Plott, son, Larry Plott, great-grandson Matthew Plott and her son-in-law, Dr. Jerry West. She was also preceded in death by her second husband T.R. Privette.
Estelle was a member of First Baptist Church of Concord. She had worked for many years as a CNA at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital (now Northeast Medical Center). She served as a caregiver for several families throughout the area and worked in the Hosiery Industry for many years as well. She was a faithful wife and mother and served the Lord for many years. She loved to cook, sew, garden and spend time with her husband, family and friends.
Her family will honor her with a Memorial Celebration on Saturday, June 10 at 1 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The service will be officiated by Estelle's son-in-law, the Rev. Bruce A. Readling. The family will receive friends immediately following the celebration service and at other times at the Pauley residence.
Survivors include her husband of 11 years, Harold Pauley of Concord, her daughters Carolyn West of Cullowhee and Tammie Readling and her husband Bruce of Whitsett, her daughter-in-law Carol Plott of Kannapolis, and her son; Todd Plott and his wife Kim of Kannapolis; her step-children Deb Mohrman and her husband Jim of Concord and Dave Pauley and his wife DeDe of Ashville, Ohio; her grandchildren, Mark Plott and wife Lisa of Kannapolis, Jeff Plott and his wife Laura of Kannapolis, Chris Plott of Kannapolis; Terry Plott and wife Alisha of Kannapolis, and Andrea Grider and her husband James of Kannapolis; Anita Rogers and her husband Michael of Cullowhee, Keith West and his wife Hope of Cullowhee; Alisha LaTour and her husband Jonathan of Brown Summit, Joshua Readling and his wife Tina of Gibsonville, Joseph Readling and his wife Anna of Welkom, South Africa; Hailey Flynn of Kannapolis, Tyler Plott of Baltimore, Maryland. She was also blessed to be survived by 36 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
