Ethel Carroll

Ethel Bernice McDonald Carroll, age 83 of 906 Woodbrook Place, passed away on July 27, 2011, at her home with her family by her side. The family will receive friends Friday, July 29, 2011, at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord from 6pm to 8 pm. The funeral service will be on Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel at 2 pm. The Reverend Don Lisk will officiate. Burial will follow at West Oakwood Cemetery. At other times, the family will meet at 906 Woodbrook Place, Concord, NC. Mrs. Carroll was born in Cabarrus County on April 24, 1928, to the late William C. McDonald and the late Dora Annie Foster McDonald. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie J. Carroll, a son, Larry Carroll, a daughter, Phyllis Carroll, 2 brothers, 3 sisters and a great grandchild. She is survived by son; James Carroll of Concord, Johnny Carroll of Charleston, SC; daughters, Peggy Furr of Concord, Libby Mann of China Grove; brothers, Frank McDonald, Luke McDonald, Kenneth “Bud” McDonald; grandchildren, Robin Haithcox, Casey Haithcox, Keisha Walsh, Ashley Strickland, Jennifer Mann, T.J. Carpenter, Natalie Carroll, Scott Carroll, Jaime Carroll, Wendy Sirko, Edward Carroll, and Megan Carroll; great grandchildren, Tyler and Cloe’ Walsh, Cody and Caleb Haithcox, Charisma StricklandCheyann and Austin Sirko, Taylor, Morgan, Amity, Kayle, Zach, and Page Carroll. Mrs. Carroll enjoyed playing bingo and working crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, hanging with her “boyfriend”, Ron Mann and her daughter-in-law, Kathy Carroll Edwards.
