Ethel Shurig

Ethel Marjorie Shurig, 94, of Concord, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Transitional Health Services in Kannapolis. Mrs. Shurig was born October 9, 1918 to the late James and Ethel Martin. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Richard Shurig. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm. The funeral service will follow in Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00pm on Wednesday. Burial will be held at Rocky River Presbyterian Church Cemetery. She is survived by a son, Jerry Shurig and wife Lynne of Concord; three grandchildren, Lara Shurig of Belmont, Melissa Nowakowski of Midland and Karen Keegan of Cumming,GA; three great grandchildren; a brother, James Steven Martin, Jr. and wife Yvonne of England. Memorials may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
