Ethel Reid Smith, 91, of Concord, passed away Friday, May 20, 2016, at Five Oaks Manor.
Born July 14, 1924, Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence M. Smith of Concord and her daughter, Wanda Smith Newton of Mocksville, NC; the late Chris (Annette) Newton.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Thomas R. Smith & wife, Betsy of Concord; granddaughter, Crystal Smith Long & her husband, Sammy; grandson, Thomas R. Smith, Jr. & wife, Carol; great-granddaughter, Emily, all of Concord; granddaughter, Leslie Newton Rogers; great-grandson, TJ of Wichita, KS; great granddaughter, Brittney Newton.
A graveside memorial service will be held at West Concord Cemetery, Union Cemetery Road, Concord, Friday, May 27, 2016 at 2:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Bob Tallent.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be made to The Humane Society of Concord, PO Box 5347, Concord, NC 28027 in Ethel's memorial.
The family would also like to thank Five Oaks Manor LLC of Concord and their staff for the wonderful care that Ethel received while she was a resident there. Their kindness and support kept a smile on her face.
