Eugene Almond

Eugene H. Almond, 87 years of age, of Mount Pleasant, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Carolinas HealthCare System NorthEast in Concord.

Mr. Almond was born July 19, 1928 in Stanly County to the late Richard C. Almond and the late Gracie A. Almond. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Lloyd Almond and Edward Almond and a sister, Jewel Morgan.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home-Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Sunday at 3:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle officiated by Rev. Jeremy Hyde. Burial will follow at the Herrins Grove Church Cemetery in Mount Pleasant.

Survivors include wife of 65 years, Vivian Almond; son, Ron Almond of Mt Pleasant; daughter, Nancy Phillips and husband Eddie of Kannapolis; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother, Hoye Almond of Mt Pleasant; and a sister, Ruth Hill of Mt Pleasant.
