Eugene Baucom

Eugene Herman Baucom, 77, of Monroe, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at Presbyterian Main, Charlotte, NC. Mr. Baucom was born September 22, 1932, in Union County. He was preceded in death by his parents,Jason H. Baucom, Sr., and Mildred Purser Baucom; brothers, Jason H. Baucom, Jr., Morris L. Baucom; and an infant son. He was a veteran, serving as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne, a member of the 618 Masonic Lodge, a member of Zion United Methodist Church, and a retired farmer. Visitation will be Thursday, June 3, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. The funeral will be Friday at 11:00 a.m., with a 30 minute state, at Zion United Methodist Church, 1521 Old Fish Road, Monroe, officiated by Rev. Mark Curtis and Rev. Mark Clontz. Burial will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park, Monroe. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the wonderful nurses and staff of the coronary care unit of Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Martha Dean Baucom, of the home; sons, Milton Baucom and wife, Harriett, Kelvin Baucom and wife, Cindy, and Randall Baucom; daughters, Donna Thomas and husband, Alan, and Paula Baucom; grandchildren, Kyle Baucom and wife, Jennifer, Kelly Baucom, Courtney Baucom, Bayden Baucom, Allison T. Parkhurst and husband, Patrick, Brandon Thomas, Alecia T. Strawn and husband, Pete, Brett Thomas, Ashley Thomas, Dylan Baucom, Makailia Baucom; great-grandchild, Lauren E.
