Eugene Freeze, Sr

Eugene Cline “Gene” Freeze, Sr., 87, of Concord, NC passed away March 25, 2010, at his home. Mr. Freeze was born November 7, 1922 in Cabarrus County to the late Will Louis Freeze and the late Elsie Cline Freeze. He was an engineer over highway construction with Propst Construction. He was also a US Navy WWII veteran having served aboard the USS Jason in the South Pacific. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers- W.L. “Dub” Freeze and Charles Freeze. Survivors include his wife- Sylvia Frye Freeze of Concord, son- Eugene Freeze, Jr. of Concord, daughters- Jean F. Sherrill (John) of Concord, Patti F. Karriker (Don) of Concord, granddaughters- Tracy Sherrill, Debra Matthews (Jeff), great grandchildren- Erika, Mac, Casey and Morgan. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. following the visitation. The service will be officiated by his pastor Reverend Carlton Davidson.
