Eula Mae “Doll” Cochran Long passed away peacefully at home on Friday morning October 27, 2023 at the age of 102.
Doll was born February 27, 1921 in the Roberta Mill area to the late Lewis “Doc” and Annie Cochran. She married the late Bruce Long on June 6, 1942. They owned and operated Long’s Grocery on Flowes Store Road until it burned in 1975. She enjoyed traveling, playing shuffleboard and doing word search puzzles. She was a lifelong member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters Louise Davis and Libby Hill; brother Bud Cochran and son-in-law Doug Starrett.
Those left to cherish her memories are daughters Carolyn (Doyt) Morton, Wanda (Frank) Phillips, Faye Gaskey (Richard Simpson), Zesta Weaver and Dianne Starrett; as well as grandchildren Douglas (Jennifer) Morton, Rodney (Leslie) Morton, Andrea (Joe) Trull, Scott (Tonya) Phillips, Shonda (Randall) Culler, Patrice (Alex) Furr, Tracie (Larry) Norris, Michael (Lacey) Weaver, Fancie (Jeff) Phillips and Austin (Linzy) Alexander. Granny had 19 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 30 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord. The Rev. Brandon Gray and Rev. RJ Hammond will officiate the service on Tuesday, October 31 at 2:00pm at Oak Ridge Baptist Church.
At other times, the family will be at the home of granddaughter, Tracie Norris. Memorials can be sent in Doll’s name to Oak Ridge Baptist Church.
