Eunice Little

Eunice Thomas Little, age 95 of Oakboro, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Stanly Manor. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Saturday, September 1 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 2 at First Baptist Church with a 30 minute state, officiated by Dr. Terrell Watts and Mr. Chip Alsobrooks. Burial will follow at Oakboro Cemetery. At other times, the family will meet at the home of her niece, Betty Huneycutt, 8276 Rocky River Road, Oakboro, NC. Mrs. Little was born in Stanly County on October 2, 1916 to the late “A.V.” Thomas and the late Fronia Eugena Smith Thomas. She was also preceded in death by her husband Beauford Lee Little, June 30, 1975; one son, Billy Lee Little; one brother, J.V. Thomas and one sister, Blanche Thomas Little Blake. She is survived by a niece, Betty Little Huneycutt and husband Joe and their children, Donnie and Chris Huneycutt; nephew, Douglas Little and wife Ellen and their children, Steve Little and Jennifer Morrow; nephew, Bill Johnson and wife Beverly and their children Leslie Frick and Leigh Rouse; and a niece, Barbara Fraley and her son Randy. Mrs. Little was a long time member of First Baptist Church, Oakboro. She worked most of her adult life in retail sales with the majority of it spent at local drug stores, including Pike’s Drug Store, Tollison’s Pharmacy, Cadell Drug Store and retired from Oakboro Drug Store. The most important things in her life were her church, her family, and the many friends she made throughout her years at the drug store. She always had a piece of candy or chewing gum for the children at church or wherever she saw them. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 322 N.
