Evelyn Hatley

Evelyn Griffin Hatley, 71 years of age, of Oakboro, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle. Mrs. Hatley was born September 23, 1942 in Stanly County to the late Roscoe and Hazel Griffin. She was also preceded in death by husband, Edward Hatley; brothers, Buck Griffin and Pete Almond; and sister, Ruby Griffin. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home - Albemarle. The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM, Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Berea Baptist Church in Stanfield officiated by Rev. Jody Wetta and Rev. Phillip Martin. There will be a 30 minute state prior to the service Burial will follow at the Berea Baptist Church Cemetery, 100 Berea Baptist Church Road, Stanfield. Survivors include daughter, Michele Burleson of Concord; sons, Michael Yow of Shelby and David Yow and wife, Amy, of Stanfield; brothers, Larry Griffin of Oakboro and J. T. Griffin of Albemarle; sisters, Helen Huneycutt of Locust and Freddie Fink of Stanfield; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
