Evelyn Huneycutt

Evelyn “Ramelle” Teeter Huneycutt, 83, of Meadow Creek Church Road, Locust, NC, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2010, at the home of her daughter, surrounded by family. Mrs. Huneycutt was born November 12, 1927, in Stanly County. She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Justice Teeter; mother, Nellie Burgess Teeter; and brother, Harold Teeter. She graduated from Stanfield High School and Morgan Business College of Albemarle. She worked 35 years with Firestone Tire and Rubber Company in Charlotte and then worked for Belk Store Services for ten years. Ramelle was a volunteer at the Pregnancy Resource Center in Albemarle for 13 years and enjoyed visiting the sick and shut-ins weekly. She was a lifelong member of Bethel Baptist Church, Locust, where she served in various church activities such as Sunday School teacher, pianist, YWA Leader and Mission Organization. The visitation will be 7 – 9 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 21, at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. At other times, the family will meet at the home of her daughter, Kelly Boger, at 118 Eastway Drive, Oakboro. The funeral service will be Wednesday, 2:00, with a 30 minute state, at Bethel Baptist Church, Locust, with Rev. Charlie Littlejohn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include son, Reid Clayton Huneycutt, of Locust; daughter, Kelly Boger, and Todd Lowder, of Red Cross; grandchildren, Cory Lane Boger and Colby Jamison Boger of Red Cross; sister-in-law, Betty Almond, of Locust; nephew, Steve Teeter, of Lake Norman; and nieces, Karen Fisher and Kim Rice, of Charlotte.
