Evelyn Kindley

Evelyn Ruth Ferguson Kindley, age 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at Stanly Manor in Albemarle.

She was a retired employee of Cannon Mills and worked for many years at Lambert’s Day Care.  She enjoyed growing her flowers and vegetables, cooking meals for her family and embroidering. Her faith was a central focus in her life and she was a long term member of Branchview First Church of God in Concord and The Concord Tablernacle where she enjoyed worshipping her Lord and Saviour and singing her favorite hymns.

She was born October 12, 1927, in Cabarrus County, the Daughter of the late John Ralph Ferguson and the late Lula Faye Goodman Ferguson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of over 70 years, J.P. Kindley; beloved sons, Mark Anthony Kindley and James Paul Kindley, Jr. (Jimmy),  grandson Chris Mower;  brothers, John Ed, William (Bill), James (Clifford), and M.H (Bob) Ferguson, and her two sisters, Geri (Birdie) Kesler and Joyce Flesher Smith.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Rodney Dale Kindley and wife, Luann, and Michael Glenn Kindley and wife, Sheila;  daughter-in-law Terry Kindley;  grandchildren, Marci Kindley Jordan (Jason), Brent Kindley, Angela Kindley Dennis (Eric), Ryan Tyler Kindley (Melanie),  great-grandchildren, Zoe Kindley, Ryker Jordan, Garrick Jordan, and Logan Kindley and dear friends  Jerry and Kitty McMillian.

The family will receive friends on Monday, Nov. 12 from 12pm-1pm, with a memorial service to be held immediately following visitation at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord, officiated by her son, Rodney. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Concord.

The family wishes to also thank the caring nurses, CNAs and staff at Stanly Manor for the wonderful care and cherished companionship provided to our Mother over the past several years.

In lieu of flowers the family asked that memorials be made to Stanly Manor Patient Fund at Stanly Manor, 625 Bethany Road in Albemarle, NC.
