Evelyn Mcmurray

Evelyn McMurray, 87, of Concord passed away at her home after a serious illness on Saturday, July 12, 2014. She was born February 18, 1927 in Charleroi, PA. She resided in Kane, PA., for 33 years before moving to Myrtle Beach, S.C. for 17 years. She moved to N.C. from the beach 8 years ago. She was a home maker and talented seamstress and cook.

Evelyn was the daughter of the deceased Ferdinand and Clara Bethem. She was preceded in death by her husband, James McMurray to whom she was married for 64 years and her son, James McMurray. She is survived by two sons, Brian McMurray of Charlotte, NC, Russ McMurray of Jenks, OK, and one daughter, Joy Snyder of Concord, NC. Also surviving are a brother, Walter Bethem of Houston, TX, a sister, Marlene Saunders, of Bedford, PA, eight granddaughters, three grandsons, seven great granddaughters and five great grandsons.

A memorial service will be held on July 19, 2014 at 11:00AM, at Epworth United Methodist Church, 1030 Burrage Road, NE, Concord, NC 28025.

At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081
