Evelyn Morton

Evelyn Louise Cranford Morton, 62 years of age, of Norwood, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.

Evelyn was born March 23, 1952 in Albemarle to the late Thurman Loveless Cranford and the late Daisy Louise Hopkins Cranford. She was also preceded in death by her step-daughter, Terry Frances Morton Knight.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Full Gospel Mission Church. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm in the church sanctuary, officiated by Rev. Mitchell Cook. The private family burial will be at 11:00 am, Friday, November 7, 2014 at Stanly Gardens of Memory in Albemarle. At other times the family will be gathering at her home.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Neil Franklin Morton of the home; son, Randy David Hathcock of Norwood; daughter, Tracey Diane Hathcock Hudson and husband Tommy of Norwood; step-sons, Charles Allen Morton, Franklin Neil Morton, Gary Lee Morton and wife Ann, and Richard William Morton, all of Albemarle; grandchildren, Stephanie Hudson Mitchell and husband Kyle of Matthews, Heather Nicole Hudson of Norwood, Tomas Dakota Hudson of Norwood, and Randy David Hathcock, Jr of Norwood; 11 step-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; brothers, Larry Cranford and wife Linda of Concord, Ronnie Cranford of Albemarle; and sister, Sheila Dixon and husband Tod of Norwood.

Evelyn was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed serving others as a registered nurse, and was a faithful member of Full Gospel Mission Church.
