Evelyn Sorenson

Evelyn Ruth Lees Sorenson, 84 years of age, of Albemarle, beloved wife and mother, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013, to go to be with the Lord, at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle. Evelyn was born February 24, 1929 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to the late Clyde Lees and Cora Trimmer Lees. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Newell Robert Sorenson, in 2011, and four brothers and two sisters. The family will receive friends, Wednesday, August 7, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. The funeral service officiated by Rev. John Futterer will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 8, 2013 at First Lutheran Church in Albemarle. Burial will follow at a later date at Salisbury National Cemetery. She is survived by her sons; William "Bill" Sorenson and wife, Margaret Ellen of Norwood, Clyde E. Sorenson and wife, Leeann of Clayton and Warren R. Sorenson and wife, Katrina of Cleveland; stepsons, Tom Sorenson and wife, Kathy and Bob Sorenson and wife, Billie of Ohio; granddaughters, Jennifer Nichols, Angela Sorenson, Anna Sorenson, Tabitha Swink and Tiffany Sorenson; grandson, Eric Sorenson; step granddaughters, Chelsea Hakola, Sonja Sorenson, Amanda Sorenson and Robyn Sorenson; stepgrandson, Brett Sorenson; great grandson, Andrew Nichols; and numerous step great grandchildren. A lifelong devoted member of First Lutheran Church, she taught Sunday School for more than 30 years. Memorials may be made to Susan G.
