Evelyn Tarlton

Evelyn Yow Tarlton, 74 years of age, of Concord, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 14, 2015.

Evelyn was born June 18, 1941 in Stanly County, NC to the late Titus Yow and the late Lora Petrea Yow.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters Lois Love, Laura Mae Baucom, Helen Diggs and Hazel Morgan.

Evelyn was a member of Kinza Memorial Baptist Church where she cherished the fellowship she shared with her church family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and was thought of as a second mother by each of her daughters-in-law. Evelyn was greatly loved and will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. Evelyn loved the outdoors, and was outside at every available opportunity. She enjoyed working in the yard, especially planting and caring for her many flower beds and landscape projects.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Kinza Memorial Baptist Church in Stanfield. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm at the church officiated by Rev. Dr. Darrell Nance. Burial will take place at Kinza Memorial Church Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Melvin Tarlton of the home; sons Dennis Tarlton and wife, Dena of Concord, and Randy Tarlton and wife, Lisa of Mt. Pleasant; grandson, Rodney Tarlton and granddaughter, Heather Tarlton; great grandson, William Tarlton; her sister, Margaret Yow; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kinza Memorial Baptist Church, 4311 Love Mill Rd., Stanfield, NC 28163.

The family would like to thank all of the emergency personnel, as well as the Highway Patrol staff for their efforts, their thoughtfulness, and their compassion during the onsite emergency response and accident investigation.
