Everett Ford

Mr. Everett Wilson Ford, 84, formerly of Cabarrus County, passed away on Monday, July 12, 2010 at Liberty Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Charlotte. Born on February 22, 1926 in Stanly County, he was the son of the late Robert Wesley and Mollie Russell Ford. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Thursday, July 15, 2010 from 9:00 until 10:00 am. Service will follow in the Chapel with Rev. William F. Nix officiating. Interment will be at noon at the National Cemetery in Salisbury with military honors performed at the graveside. Mr. Ford was a veteran of WWII where he served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Glorieta Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and singing in barbershop quartets. He is survived by his wife, Delores Hunter Ford, of the home; daughters, Beth Ford, of Reidsville, Debbie White and husband, William, of Rocky Mount, Sue Wall and husband, Dan, of Raleigh, and Jenny Strange and husband, Danny, of New Bern; step children, Lynn Cress and wife, Debbie, of Concord, Brenda Haskin and husband, Rusty, of Concord, James Cress, of Concord, and Michael Cress and wife, Joan, of Salisbury; 18 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
