Irene Widenhouse Thompson, 86 years of age, of Concord, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
Irene was born November 3, 1930 in Concord, North Carolina to the late Gilbert Franklin Widenhouse and Fannie Lee Smith Widenhouse.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Lee Thompson, sister Elizabeth and brothers Hugh and Harry.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm, Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord, NC. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Concord officiated by Rev. Joe Fulk. Burial will follow at the Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
Survivors include brother, Ray Widenhouse and wife Ruby of Concord, nieces: Barbara, Sandra, Violet, Diane, Judy, Brenda, Debbie and Toni and nephews; Hal, Ed, Mike and Andy and cousins Wayne and Kay Thompson.
Irene worked at Kyser-Roth and retired from Cannon Mills Plant #4. The family would like to thank Hospice of Cabarrus County for the love and care they gave Irene.
