Faye Askew

Faye Elaine Blanchard Askew, 68 years of age, entered Heaven's Gates on May 27, 2021. Faye was born November 30, 1952, in Augusta, Georgia, to the late Walter and Myrtis Blanchard. She was preceded in death by her brother, Walter(Pig) Eugene Blanchard II, her mother and father.

Faye Elaine Blanchard Askew was joined in marriage with SFC Francis Robert Askew in December of 1979. the Lord blessed this union with two beautiful daughters, Amber Renee' Askew and Francina Jasmine Askew.

Prior to marriage, Faye received a Master of Science degree in Special Education from Augusta State University. While a student at Augusta State University, Faye became a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.

Faye was employed as a Special Education Teacher for Public School and State Institutional settings for over 30 years. She worked for the Richmond County Public Schools and Gracewood State School and Hospital, both in Augusta, GA. While in Germany with her husband, Faye also worked for the Public school System on the military base.

Faye's Christian faith was an essential part of her life. In 1998, she completed requirements and graduated from Calvary Bible Institute in Augusta, GA. Faye loved to read the Bible, minister to, and pray for others. In addition, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. Her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her.

Faye's beautiful life will forever be cherished and remembered in the lives of her family; Amber Renee' Askew (Daughter), Francina Jasmine Askew-Moore(Daughter),Stephen Daniel Moore(Son -in-Law), Christian Alexander Cook (Grandson)  and Norah Grace Moore (Granddaughter);along with a host of family members and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord, with, Rev. Dr. Lugenia Johnson,officiating.
