Faye Mcclellan

Faye Helms McClellan, 85 years of age, of Concord, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. She was born November 11, 1928 in North Carolina to the late John Van Helms and the late Veta Helms. She was also preceded in death by husband, Allen R. McClellan; son, David Allen McClellan Sr.; brothers, Rev. Carl Helms, Rev. Melvin Helms, Rev. Earl Helms, Rev. Lee Helms, Clifford Helms, Robert Helms, and Hubert Helms. The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm, Sunday, December 15, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home - Concord. The funeral service will be on Monday at 11:00 am at Parkwood Baptist in Concord officiated by Rev. Darrell Coble and Rev. Michael Watters. Burial will follow at the Carolina Memorial Park - Kannapolis at Hwy. 29N at I85, Exit 58, Kannapolis. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Survivors include daughter - Linda (Mike) Bost of Concord, NC; son - Steven (Michele) McClellan of Concord, NC; 7 grandchildren - Trent (Paula) Bost, Brad (Kelly) Bost, Dan (Mamie) McClellan, John (Laura) McClellan, David (Lorrie) McClellan Jr., Michelle McClellan, Michael (Amy) McClellan; great-grandchildren; 2 sisters - Ruth Nelson of Concord, NC, Doris (Bill) Hamrick of Concord, NC; sister in laws - Dot Brant, and Barbara McClellan of Concord. Faye was an active member of Parkwood Baptist Church for over 60 years. She served as WMU president, taught Sunday school, was a greeter, and served on the homebound visitation team. The great loves of her life were Jesus, family, church, and especially her Sunday School class. She will always be remembered for her cooking, her delicious cakes, beautiful smile, and her Christian witness.
