Mrs. Faye Mullis Morton 86 of Concord passed away on Sunday afternoon, April 25, 2010. She was transported by angels from Tucker Hospice House to her Heavenly Home. Born on January 03, 1924 in Monroe, NC to the late Julius Mullis and the late Etta Melton Mullis. Faye retired from Cannon Mills. However, her major work was that of supporting her husband in his Preaching Ministry. She was a outstanding Sunday School Teacher. She loved to study God’s Word, which she has read thru 38 times. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 from 6 until 8 PM. A Celebration of her life will be held at New Grace Baptist Church on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at 4 PM. with the Rev. Allen Montgomery and her husband Rev. Johnny J. Morton assisting. Burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery. Survived by: husband, Rev. Johnny Morton of the home; daughter, Brenda Kay Cooper and husband Jack, Charlotte La Dawn Hampton; grandchildren, Jacinda Cooper, Errol Cooper and wife Marlena, Michelle James and husband Allen; great-grandchildren, Erin, David, Jacquie, Kayla, Perron, A.J. and Brown; sisters, Jeanette Whitley of Monroe, Julia Carpenter of Grottoes, VA, Carrie Brooks of Monroe; brothers, Boyce Mullis of Monroe, Judge Mullis of Monroe, Wilson Mullis of VA. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Hospice Nurse, Adrian Green, for the care she gave to Faye, but also for the comfort and support that our family received from her for the past four months. The family will forever be grateful to Mrs. Lucille Keller who has loved and cared for Faye for the past 14 months.
