Flake Barbee

Flake Craven Barbee, 89 years of age, of Stanfield, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
Flake was born December 13, 1926 in Oakboro to the late Martin Luther Barbee and the late Edna Pearl Allen Barbee.
He was also preceded in death by wife, Betty Jean Barbee; and sisters, Ruth Furr and Wilma Love.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
Survivors include daughter, Kay Barbee of Locust; son, Doug (Vickie) Barbee of Locust; son, Donnie Barbee of Stanfield; brother, James Allen (Jean) Barbee of Locust; sisters, Mary (Craven) Smith of Polkton; and Dean Efird of Stanfield; five grandchildren, Bart, Devin, Dustin, Jessica, and April; and seven great-grandchildren, Riley, Landon, Addison, Maddex, Fisher, Greyson, and Lawson.
