Florence Burris

Florence Elizabeth Efird Burris, age 88 of Albemarle, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at the Lutheran Home. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Thursday, March 15 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, March 16 at 2:00 PM, officiated by Rev. Terry Burris. Burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory. Mrs. Burris was born in Stanly County on August 22, 1923, to the late Claude Flave Efird and the late Maggie Josphine Hartsell Efird. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Grady Ray “Bud” Burris, Sr. in 2009; her son, Grady Ray Burris, Jr. and one sister, Ruby Hinson. She is survived by two grandsons, Dale Burris and his wife Savannah and Don Burris and his fiancé Rhonda, all of Albemarle; one brother, Bennie Efird and his wife Louise of Albemarle; four sisters, Autie Furr and Nellie Furr, both of Albemarle, Eva Rowell of Columbia, SC and Sarah Rand and her husband Richard of Manchester, CT; two great-grandchildren; and special friends, Pat Almond and Linda Swaringen. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. 1st Street, Albemarle, NC 28001. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Burris family
