Floyd F. Hall, 96, of Concord, passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 at Universal Healthcare in Concord.
Mr. Hall was born January 19, 1919 in Randolph County, NC to the late Arlie Hall and Vella (Honney) Hall. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his wife, Marie Hall in 2006; son Adrian Neil Hall in 2009; sisters Ollie Johnson, Amie Lucas Johnson and Paige Voncannon; brothers Daner Hall, Reece Hall, Ed Hall and Elvin Hall.
He is survived by granddaughters Ashley Hall Goodman and husband Robin; and Christy Hall Benson, all of Concord; daughter in law Sandy Hall Wilhite of Kannapolis; great-grandchildren Holly Marie Benson, Tanner Goodman and Connor Goodman; sister Arlene Williams of High Point, NC; and brother Marl Hall and wife Lorene of Lexington, NC.
Mr. Hall was a World War II United States Army veteran serving in the United States and Europe, where he proudly earned the American Service Medal, the Victory Medal, and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with three Bronze Stars. He retired from the Concord Police Department after 30 years of service. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Concord for over 60 years, where he served as the church Treasurer for more than 50 years, and also served as a Deacon. Mr. Hall also enjoyed being a member of the Cabarrus County Law Enforcement Officers Association.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord on Monday, February 2, 2015. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am on Monday in the chapel, officiated by Rev. Bob Page of Immanuel Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Carolina Memorial Park of Kannapolis with military honors.
