Floyd Russell

Floyd Russell, 80, of 170 Allen Drive, Fletcher, NC passed away on February 11, 2011 at John Keever Solace Center in Asheville, NC. The family will receive friends Monday from 12 – 1:30 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. A graveside service will follow the visitation at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery at 2 PM. Mr. Russell was born in Stanly County, NC on October 8, 1930 to the late Delma and Vera Russell. He was also preceded in death by his wife Laura Frances Miller Russell. During his life he served his country in the United States Navy. He worked for Blue Ridge Trucking Company for many years. He was also a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Asheville. Mr. Russell is survived by his sons Mark Russell and wife Gloria of Fletcher, Michael Russell and wife Violet of Chandler, Charles Russell and wife Betsy of Conover; brother, John Russell and wife Willa Mae of China Grove; grandchildren, Troy Russell, Chesney Russell, and Chayce Russell. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Russell family.
