Frances Baldwin

February 3, 1930 — August 20, 2015

Frances Shears Baldwin, age 85, departed this life on Thursday, August 20, 2015, unexpectedly at her home. She was born in Randolph County in the township of New Hope to Robert Shears and Beatrice Fry Shears. Frances was a loving wife and mother and a dedicated homemaker. Following several years of employment with Burlington Mills in Kernersville, she moved to Concord in 1968. She was a faithful member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She was also a "day mom" to several children as well as a bus driver for Cabarrus County Schools.

Frances is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Curby Frank Baldwin, Jr.; children, Kenneth Baldwin and wife Paula of Charlotte, Keith Baldwin of Kannapolis, Rebecca Gay Baldwin of Cumming, GA and Shelia Baldwin Sherrill of Mount Pleasant; granddaughter, Sheena Sherrill Hatley and husband Gavin; great grandchildren, Gavin, Jada and Landon Hatley; and several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by sisters, Morine Shears Russell and Betty Shears Baldwin; brothers, Norman Shears and Richard Shears; grandson, Jerry Wayne Sherrill III; and daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Baldwin.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 23, 2015 from 1:00 pm-2:00 pm at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 42 Liske Avenue, Concord. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the church sanctuary, officiated by Rev. Edward Pigg. The burial will be at Cabarrus Memorial Gardens, 3892 Hwy 73 West, Concord.
