She was born on May 3, 1939 in Ramsey (Fayette County), WV, to the late Henry D. Bennett and Glenna P. Bennett and graduated from the Charleston School of Commerce in 1959. Frances worked at several financial institutions and retired from Ryland Homes after 22 years of service as a receptionist. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert Ray Burton; two sons, Michael Ray Burton and wife Nancy of Indian Trail, Robert Glenn Burton and wife Joni of Concord; two granddaughters whom she dearly loved, Shelley and Haley Burton; and four siblings, Roy Bennett and Carolyn Pierce of Ohio, Sharon Davis of Florida, and Karen Cale of Hickory. Frances was proud of her family, loved music and the outdoors, and brought laughter to all those around her. It is a comfort to know she has gone to be with the Lord. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Wednesday, May 30, from 6 until 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at her church, Westford United Methodist Church in Concord, on Thursday, May 31, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jeffrey Rushing officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. Memorials may be made to Westford United Methodist Church c/o Food Pantry.
