Frances Horton Cook, 95 years of age, born September 13, 1920 in Cabarrus County to the late Allen Jones (Coot) and Addie Russell Horton, passed away December 23, 2015.
Mrs. Cook is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph W. Cook; her brothers, Howard Jones Horton and Allen Ray Horton; her son-in-law, Mickey Davis.
She is survived by her daughter, Delores Ann (Dee) Davis; her son, Joseph A. (Skip) and Brenda Cook of Concord, Phillip Duncan Cook of Roswell, GA; grand children, Phillip Allen Cook of Fort Mill, SC and Dawn Cook Biddy of Concord, Kara Cook Bushey of Alapherita, GA, Phillip Duncan Cook II of Alantic Beach, FL and Maddie Cook of Alapherita, GA, Taylor Cook of Atlanta, GA; great grant children, Shawn Morgan, Drew Biddy, Hunter Biddy of Concord and Lincoln Bushey of Alapherita, GA, Kara Cook Bushey and Marvin Bushey, Dawn Cook Biddy and Todd Biddy; great great grand children, Addie and Marley Morgan of Concord; sister-in-law, Ethel Horton of Rockwell; nephew, Ronnie Horton of Salisbury, NC; cousin, Ann Russell Burr of Concord.
The service will be Saturday December 26, 2015 at 3:00 pm at Rocky River Presbyterian Church, officiated by Rev. Claire George-Drumheller. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Mrs. Cook was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. She loved her grand children and baby sat for them well into her 80's.
She was an avid sports fan, kept up with all sports, Panthers, Atlanta Braves, Concord Spiders and Nascar races. She loved the Outer Banks and Sunset Beach. Mrs. Cook was a lifetime member of Rocky River Presbyterian Church and Class of 1936 at Harrisburg High School.
The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rocky River Presbyterian Church, Harrisburg, NC.
