Frances Cook

Frances Strickland Cook, age 73, of 502 Todd Drive Concord passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at her home. She was born on March 6, 1938 to the late Claude Frank Strickland, Sr and Mabel Gaynelle Smith Strickland. Frances was a printer for Kaiser Roth Hosiery, and was a member of Harvest Community Church where she was a sunday school teacher. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed fishing on Lake Tillery, volunteering at Crisis Pregnancy Center and Batte Cancer Center in Concord. Frances was also a foster parent. The family meeting place will be the home at 502 Todd Drive NE. A visitation will be held at Harvest Community Church on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 from 1 until 2 PM. Funeral services will follow at the church at 2 PM, with Rev. Jeff Burris and Rev. Tim Newton officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Paul Bangle Cook of the home; son, Paul F. Cook of Concord; daughter, Debra Cook Helms of Concord; brother, Wayne Strickland also of Concord; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
