Frances Hickman

Mrs. Frances Ernestine Cook Hickman, 83, of 32 Rosedale Avenue, Concord, passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at CMC NorthEast. She was born on January 27, 1927 in Cabarrus County to the late Clifford Cook and Blanche Ernestine Goodman Query. A visitation will be held on Sunday at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord from 1:00 until 1:45. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 in the chapel with Rev. Buster Pigg officiating. Interment will be at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis following the service. The family meeting place will be the home. Frances was a graduate of Winecoff High School. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Concord. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her daughter, Sonnie Gail Gwyn. She is survived by her husband, Dewey B. Hickman, of the home; sons, Dewey C. Hickman, of Concord and Clarence Hickman, of Boone; daughter, Connie Pearson, of Raeford; sisters, Mary Lemond, of Concord, Audry Bare, of Columbia, SC, Colleen Shupping, of Rockwell, and Sammy Ellis, of Augusta, GA; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church, 42 Lisk Avenue NW, Concord NC 28027. Hartsell Funeral Home Concord is serving the Hickman family.
