Frances Elmira Efird Mullis, 80, of Stanfield, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017 at her home.
Frances was born December 10, 1936 in Stanly County to the late Willis Edward Efird and the late Ramelle Odessa Brafford Efird, and was raised by her late uncle and aunt, Zeb and Pauline Kiser.
She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Richard Lee Mullis, who passed away March 28, 2016; son, Richard Wayne Mullis; and brothers, Jim and Hal Eifrd.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. - 3:45 p.m., Sunday, September 10, 2017 at Love's Grove United Methodist Church in the Fellowship Hall, 4360 Polk Ford Rd., Stanfield. The funeral service to celebrate her life will follow at 4:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary, officiated by Rev. Jim White. The burial will be in the church cemetery. At other times, the family will be gathering at her son, David's, home 17366 Pond Rd., Locust.
She is survived by her son, David Allen Mullis and wife Amy of Locust; grandchildren, Ryan Mullis and wife Jessica, Talor Smith, Anna Mullis, and Molly Mullis; and great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Reagan Mullis, and Shayla and Lane Grismer.
Frances was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She was a faithful member of Love's Grove United Methodist Church, and was an avid reader. Frances had a heartwarming personality that came across to everyone she met.
