Francis Lentz

Francis Eugene Lentz, 66 years of age, of Concord, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2015 at First Assembly Living Center in Concord of natural causes.

Mr. Lentz was born January 17, 1949 in Concord, NC to the late Claude O. Lentz and Ruby Lentz. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lentz was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Alice Lentz and Rita M. Lentz, and brother, Paul O. Lentz.

Mr. Lentz was a lifelong member of St. James the Greater Catholic Church, Concord, NC. He participated in Special Olympics for many years. He enjoyed being a member of the Happy Faces group. Francis was an avid sports spectator. He liked all sports, especially the Atlanta Braves, Dallas Cowboys, and UNC Tarheels. Francis had a sense of humor, and a wonderful laugh. He loved everyone, and he will be missed by everyone who loved him.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be on Thursday at 11:00 am at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Concord officiated by Father Jerome Chavarria. Burial will follow at St. James The Greater Catholic Church Cemetery at 2323 Gold Hill Rd., Concord.

Mr. Lentz is survived by sisters, Anne E. Lentz and Catherine L. Efird, and brothers, George Edgar Lentz and wife Jane, James W. Lentz, Sr. and wife Frances Ann, John V. Lentz and wife Linda, and Phillip M. Lentz, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James the Greater Catholic Church Building Fund, 139 Manor Ave. SW, Concord, NC 28025. The family would like to thank the staff at First Assembly Living Center for the care that was shown to their brother. Also, a special thanks to Dr. Laura Pons at Cabarrus Family Medicine for the interest and care shown to Mr. Lentz.
